Not only does the spring season bring bountiful crops of delicious fruit and veg but also the start of the lambing season. And not forgetting with the beginning of the Easter celebration period, so chocolate is also on the menu!

Fruit

Spring time is the best season for many British fruits and vegetables. In March, the star of the show is of course Yorkshire rhubarb. Crisp and deliciously tart, it is perfect for your desserts, cakes and pastries.

No spring menu is complete without strawberries, with Gariguette and Frais des bois strawberries starting to ripen nicely. Also wonderful this time of the year is the striking Blood orange.

Veg

What says springtime like the start of asparagus season. At Classic Fine Foods, we have available French green and white asparagus as well as Wye Valley asparagus from the UK.

A rare spring delight now available is wild garlic leaves, which will pack a punch to pesto, salsa verde, soup and more. Purple sprouting broccoli is also in abundance this month. And from the fungi world, morel mushrooms are ready to harvest.
