Founded by Henri Gillardeau in 1898, Gillardeau Maison was a pioneer in oyster farming in France. The company cultivates their oysters in the Belon River in Brittany, using traditional know-how and innovation to produce the highest quality oysters possible.
Gillardeau Maison oysters are cultivated for 4 years in Marennes-Oleron, Poitou-Charentes. After 9 months in oyster parks, they are placed in bags and submerged for more than 3 years in deep water.
Their team assesses the quality of their oysters rigorously, with daily checks of the water quality and oxygen levels of their oyster pools to create the perfect environment for them to grow.
Their attention to detail and focus on quality has made them a favourite in the gastronomic world.
