- Categories : Seasonality

British Summer Time has officially begun, and with it comes a wide variety of fruit and vegetables as well as key events such as Wimbledon. At Classic Fine Foods we also have the exciting launch of Classic Beverage to share with our customers.

With Classic Harvest by Classic Fine Foods, we want to offer to you the best selection of seasonal and high-quality fruit & vegetables coming from the best farmers in the UK and Europe;

Fruit

Summer is here and with it comes a generous crop of juicy and delicious stone fruits such as yellow and white peaches and nectarines. Perfect for making desserts, cocktails and salads, these fruits are perfect for your summer menus.

During the summer months, there is an abundance of soft fruits available in the UK. Picked daily, Oakchurch strawberries and raspberries from Herefordshire are deliciously sweet and juicy, a great summer staple.

And for something a little different, we offer a rare spring-summer delight, fresh almonds. They have a soft yet firm texture as the nut has not yet matured and a delicate almond flavour, perfect for adding to salads or for pickling.

Veg

With a short harvest time, morels and small giroles mushrooms are a rare spring-summer treat so get them whilst you can! With strong earthy and umami flavours, these mushrooms are ideal for adding to your pasta dishes, sauces and soups.

Another early summer delight is lemon verbena. With a fragrant and citrusy in flavour, this herb is perfect for adding to cocktails and teas or in sorbets and jams.

From the UK, we have a wide variety of Isle of Wight tomatoes in season. With classic vine to cherry to mixed heritage, at Classic Fine Foods, we have everything you need to make delicious summer salads, tarts, pastas and more.

Wimbledon

Taking place between the 3rd-16th July, Wimbledon is a big date in the summer social calendar. We have created a product selection so you can create some fantastic showstoppers for the important day.

Strawberries & Cream

What Wimbledon menu is complete without strawberries and cream? At Classic fine Foods, we have local British strawberries and Cornish clotted cream for you to serve to your customers, either on their own or in cakes, tarts and desserts.

Convenient Pastry Solutions

And to help you cater for large numbers on the day, we offer a range of convenient solutions such as bread sheets and tart shell from Hug. These easy-to-use and high-quality ingredients are perfect for making delicious and uniform canapes for your guests.
